About us

Haywood Regional Medical Center is a community hospital located in Clyde, North Carolina, and is part of Duke LifePoint Healthcare. Established in 1927, it was the first county hospital in North Carolina and has been serving the community since its rebuilding in 1978. The hospital is licensed for 154 beds and offers a wide range of medical services across more than 30 specialties. The hospital provides surgical services, cardiology, emergency medicine, women's and children's services, behavioral health, and rehabilitation services, among others. It also features a 54,000 square foot Health and Fitness Center, which includes a cardiac rehabilitation center and an indoor pool. In addition to the main campus, Haywood Regional operates an Outpatient Care Center and multiple physician clinics, enhancing access to healthcare in the region. The hospital is recognized for its commitment to quality and safety, having received 'A' Hospital Safety Grades from The Leapfrog Group.
