Interstate Waste Services, Inc. (IWS) is a family-owned solid waste and recycling services provider based in the greater New York City and Northern New Jersey areas. Founded in 1998 by Mike DiBella, IWS has grown from a small collection business into a regional leader, employing around 1,200 people. The company has a rich history dating back to 1947 and has completed over 30 acquisitions since 2002, enhancing its service capabilities. IWS operates a comprehensive range of non-hazardous waste management services, including waste collection, dumpster rentals, construction waste disposal, recycling services, and organics recycling. The company serves a diverse customer base, with a strong focus on commercial accounts, which make up about 90% of its business. IWS is recognized as one of the largest privately held solid waste haulers in its market, generating approximately $74 million in annual revenue. Its operational infrastructure includes a fleet of 375-400 collection vehicles, multiple transfer stations, and material recovery facilities.
