About us

University Health encompasses two major public academic health systems in the United States, located in Kansas City, Missouri, and San Antonio, Texas. Each system is dedicated to providing comprehensive healthcare services, education, and community outreach. The Kansas City branch, founded in 1962, operates two acute care hospitals and over 70 clinics, employing more than 4,500 staff. It offers a wide range of services, including trauma care, behavioral health programs, and women's health services. The San Antonio branch is the third largest public health system in Texas, featuring a 716-bed teaching hospital and over 25 outpatient clinics. It specializes in advanced care, including trauma and organ transplantation, and is closely affiliated with the University of Texas Health Science Center. Both systems prioritize accessible healthcare for all, focusing on community health and education while training future medical professionals. They are committed to serving diverse populations, including uninsured and underinsured individuals.
