About us

Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) is a large public research university located in Richmond, Virginia. Established in 1968 through the merger of the Medical College of Virginia and the Richmond Professional Institute, VCU has grown to serve over 30,000 students. The university operates two main campuses: the MCV Campus, which focuses on health sciences, and the Monroe Park Campus, which encompasses a wide range of disciplines including arts, humanities, and business. VCU offers a variety of academic programs, awarding bachelor's, master's, doctoral, and professional degrees across multiple fields. Notable schools include the School of Medicine, the only dentistry school in Virginia, and the School of the Arts.
